At the age of just 16 years old, Bobbie Jo Weinholdt-Harris celebrated her first training win on Friday night at Grand River Raceway with No Way Back, a five-year-old pacer she co-owns with her mother Debra.
Martin Lachance sent the son of The Panderosa three-wide past the third quarter mark in the second race en route to the half-length victory in 2:00.2 over the late-closing Beau Seelster and favourite Fast Water. No Way Back overcame the post nine starting spot to pull off a 9-1 upset.
Weinholdt-Harris, who was drawn into the sport as a youngster watching her Rockwood, Ont. neighbours' horses from across the street, earned her first win in 17 starts.
