Dan Clements mapped out a perfect trip for Kan Wire in Tuesday feature race at Georgian Downs, and the gelding wasn’t about to let that trip go to waste

.

The six-year-old son of Valley Victor-Wired slipped right into the two-hole from his pole position starting spot while Zorgwijk Fortunate fired to the lead and threw down a :27.3 opening panel. They held those positions to the mid-way point in :56.4 before Titan Park came first-over up the backstretch and applied pressure on the leader all the way to the three-quarter pole in 1:25.3.

Clements was able to find clearance in the lane with Kan Wire, who used a :29.3 closing kick to post the neck decision in a time of 1:55.2. Pricevalleyrevitup rallied to finish second and Titan Park held on bravely to finish third.

Rick Zeron conditions the 15-time winner for Joyce Zeron, Leslie Patterson and Maureen Dew. Tuesday’s score gives him a 4-6-3 record in 28 trips postward this season, and the lion’s share of the $15,100 Preferred Trot purse bumped his overall bankroll to $270,339.
