Coming Fashion collected his second top-level win in the past two weeks as the gelding went first-up to capture the $5,200 Preferred 3 Trot at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Coming off a Preferred-4 win at Leamington, Coming Fashion moved forward off the wings for Don Rankin to slide into the pocket behind the firing Classy Guy (Nick Steward) and had a look to the outside at the quarter in :28 before pulling back onto the pylons. Classy Guy gave up control to Wrap And A Hooey (Garrett Rooney), who brushed from sixth to make front at the half in :59.4, and he brought the field to three-quarters in 1:28.3 with Coming Fashion on the move first-over. Coming Fashion chipped away at the leader around the final turn and put him away in deep-stretch, finishing the mile in 1:59.2 with three-quarters of a length to spare over the closing Nzuri (Paul Walker). Monteverdi (Natasha Day) got up for third with late speed.

Coming Fashion has won three straight races and is five-for-12 overall this year. Randy Fulmer of Lasalle, Ont. trains the son of Crescent Fashion-Here Comes Annie and co-owns him with Phillip Katcher of Madison, Mo. The six-year-old earned his 20th win in 107 starts lifetime, increasing his earnings to $123,555.

There were two $8,000 Prospect Series Leg 4B divisions for two-year-old trotters on the card. Life Is Great ($5.90) went gate-to-wire in the filly division, winning in 2:03.1 for driver Paul MacKenzie and trainer Blake MacIntosh. The colt split went to Jetair ($25.80) in 2:01 with Damian MacLellan driving for Kyle Fellows.
