Jjs Stables' homebred pacing mare Bestulldotanite went wire-to-wire to win the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Handicap featured on Saturday's harness racing card at Flamboro Downs.
With the inside post advantage, 5-2 favourite Bestulldotanite came through for the leading role leaving her rivals -- stacked four-across into the first turn -- to drop behind her in post position order. Bestulldotanite then led the nine-horse field through fractions of :27.2, :56 and 1:24.4 en route to the one length victory in 1:54.4. When Double Joy faded first over down the backstretch, Pictonian Sareta tipped out from third, but Windsong Glamorous closed through the passing lane to hold second-place. Pictonian Sareta settled for third.
Trained by Robert Ellis, the Geartogear mare notched her ninth win of the season with Tyler Moore picking up the catch-drive. A consistent cheque-getter in the 'B' circuit Preferreds, Bestulldotanite has banked over $55,000 for her six-year-old campaign.
Bestulldotanite paid $7.90 to win.
