Tobins Star Threepeats; Cheverie Returns

Tobins Star extended his winning streak to three-in-a-row thanks after claiming the Monday afternoon Labour Day feature at Summerside Raceway

Tobins Star, a five-year-old son of Stargaze Hanover, took a page out of his sire’s playbook by taking the field down the road and drawing off to win by 6-1/4 lengths in a time of 1:58. P L Betterway was second to cross the line, with Hutchinson Hanover grabbing third prize.

Walter Cheverie was in the bike for the victory for co-owner/trainer Philip Doucette and partner Tom Lynch of Summerside, PEI. Cheverie was back in the line-up after being sidelined for months after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Marc Campbell and Brodie MacPhee recorded driving triples on the matinee card while Gary Chappell and Mark Bradley each scored twice to add to their win totals for the season.
