Putnams Power Is Still Perfect

A phenomenal start to a career continued following Putnams Power's win in the Williamson at Fredericton Raceway on Monday evening

. Owned by Ron Seymour, Jr. and Bruce Donovan of Glace Bay, NS, the two-year-old colt made it eight victories in eight starts by stopping the clock in 1:59.2.

Danny Romo guided the son of Force Of Life to the win, defeating Woodmere Sandman and Windemere Express. Putnams Power had won an "A" division event in the Atlantic Sires Stakes at Fredericton on July 21.

Romo won an earlier division of the Williamson Memorial for colts with Calmlea Justin in a new personal best of 2:01.2.

Gilles Barrieau scored in a $5,865 Williamson division with The Streak in a new mark of 1:58.3. It was one of four victories on the opening day of FREX Week harness racing. He also clicked with R Es Andrew in 2:01.1, Manraysonjo in 1:58.3, and Spudland Tyler in 2:00.4.

Harness racing resumes with an eight dash program on Wednesday night. Post time is 7:00 p.m.
