Upset City For Keep The Dream

The majority of the betting public didn’t give Keep The Dream much respect going into Friday’s $10,500 Open Pace at Fraser Downs, but that didn’t stop the mare from pulling off a 21-1 upset for driver Travis Bowman.

Keep The Dream got away fourth in the five-horse affair, and she remained there throughout the first three-quarters of the contest. Gotta Have Nukes, in the meantime, was hustled to the top and asked to chop out fractions of :27.1, :57.2 and 1:25. Keep The Dream rallied late and used her :29.1 closing quarter to win by a neck over Gotta Have Nukes. Third prize went to Alligator Falls.

The four-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Keepsake Killean, who hangs her harness bag in the barn of trainer Allan Malloy, has banked just shy of $110,000 to date. The 11-time winner is owned by Dr. James Findlay of Maple Ridge, BC.
