The betting public was bang on when it came to tabbing Camco Patrica as the horse to beat in Monday’s $3,000 NLSBA/Standardbred Canada Stake for two and three-year-old pacing fillies at St Johns Raceway
.
Camco Patrica, who started from Post 2, got away fourth before brushing to the top and cruising to a one-length decision in 2:07.3 for trainer/driver Rodney Forward. The sophomore daughter of Justice Denied-Same Day Delivery turned back the pocket-sitting K Ngs Hurricane and Farmers Gal in the five-filly affair.
Sent off as the 1-5 favourite for owner Gerald Newell of North Valley, NL, Camco Patrica improved this year’s record to 3-1-4 in 10 tries with the victory. The four-time winner has banked just over $3,000 in her career.
