Trot Insider has learned that the Tony O’Sullivan trained three-year-old pacing colt, Millionaire Cam, has been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an injury
he sustained in early July.
O’Sullivan told Trot Insider that the homebred son of Million Dollar Cam-Michelles Jackpot, owned by Jeffrey Snyder of New York, NY, suffered a tear in his left front tendon in his Ontario Sires Stakes Gold elimination on July 4 at Georgian Downs.
“We did surgery on him and he seems good,” said the resident of Cambridge, Ont. “We’re probably looking at getting him back into training in November if all goes well, but he is definitely done for the year.”
At two, Millionaire Cam won three of his six starts including an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold final and earned $128,340 in purses. This year, the bay recorded one win and three thirds in eight starts adding $36,300 to his bankroll before being forced to hang up his harness.
“Hopefully time and the surgery we did on it will help it," said O'Sullivan. "We’ll see how he holds up and we’ll see how he comes back."
