Mr Green paced home for his fifth straight win Wednesday (September 4) in Northfield Park’s fourth race.
The four year-old is owned and trained by John Cantrell of Mansfield, Ohio. Driver Kurt Sugg has been in the sulky for all of the quintuplet of consecutive victories.
Mr Green began from the second tier. Sugg brushed him to the lead in the third quarter and secured a three-length margin victory over Visage Hanover (Ryan Stahl). The mile clocking was 1:56.3.
Wednesday’s triumph increased Mr Green’s (Big Green Machine-Windys Lounge-Native Leader) lifetime win tally to six and his career earnings to $7,685. He was the race favourite and paid $3.40 to win.
