Richard Moreau took over the training on Harnessnitencanada, and he handed the lines to driver Scott Coulter. The gelding was allowed to settle into sixth while the heavily favoured The Ladies Man, who was sent off at 3-5, rolled the field through fractions of :27, 56.4 and 1:25.1. Harnessnitencanada tracked cover into the backstretch before making a three-wide move around the final turn. He turned on the afterburners over the final quarter of the contest and drew clear to win by 3-1/4 lengths over Acceptable Risk in 1:53.1. The Ladies Man faded to finish third.
The six-year-old son of Rambaran-Armbro Poppins is now owned by GAAR Racing Stables of Thornhill, ON and Sylvain Descheneaux of Sorel-Tracy, QC. It was the second straight score for the 15-time winner, who has stashed away close to $57,000 this season and more than $177,000 to date.
