Macnamarra was an easy gate-to-wire winner in Sunday’s featured $1,000 Winners Over Pace at Inverness Raceway for trainer-driver Doug MacQuarrie

.

The six-year-old son of Camluck-Tropicana Chris made every call a winning one as he raced past fractions of :28, :57.1 and 1:26.4 en route to victory in a season’s best 1:56. Romanie Ranger (Campbell MacIsaac) followed along in the pocket to finish second, over four lengths behind. Game Zac (Alex MacNeill) was third with the popular first over challenger, Havana Dream (Alex MacQuarrie), fading to fourth and last weekend’s Open Pace winner Truth Or Dare (Ryan Campbell) earning the final paycheque.

Macnamarra paid $7 to win as the 5-2 second choice. Local resident Roderick Smith owns the bay gelding, a winner of seven races this year from 16 starts.
