Behavenmyself earned a repeat victory at Hippodrome 3R Sunday (Sept. 30), but no track record as she did last week in the Québec Plus Series for two-year-old pacing fillies.

The sixth race co-feature saw Esprit Dequipe (Jocelyn Gendron) go to the early lead with Blackjack Soleil (Claude Beausoleil) pressing from outside and taking the lead after the opening quarter in :28.

Dernier Essai (Pierre Luc Roy) had come first-over at the half in :57.4, with 1-5 favourite Behavenmyself and driver Pascal Berube following the outside flow before a three-wide burst of speed in the backstretch to clear by three-quarters in 1:28.1.

Behavenmyself then switched to another gear as she started to pull away from the field, winning by 7-3/4 lengths in 1:58.4. Blackjack Soleil was second with Moneymakehersmile (Stephane Gendron) third.

Co-owned by trainer Gerald Demers with Jean Roch Marois, the Badlands Hanover filly earned her second straight win and paid $2.40.

In the second round of the Québec Plus Series for two-year-old trotters, El Bleu and driver Pierre Luc Roy won for the second straight week.

Justice For Narnia (Sylvain Lacaille) cut the mile with El Bleu floating on the outside first-over. Entering the backstretch for the final time, Berube let El Bleu have his head, and the son of E L Titan went right to the front to won by four lengths in 2:03.3. Thats Hooligan (Jean Paul Rousse) was second with Justice For Narnia third.

Trained by Maxime Velaye for breeder-owner Ecurie Provoquante of Mirabel, it was a lifetime mark for El Bleu in the non-wagering race.

In the eighth race Invitational Trot, R Rkadabra and driver Pascal Berube took off with the lead in usual fashion, leading by three to four lengths until the three-quarters, when both Rocky Boy (Marc Belanger) and Capteur De Reve (Pierre Luc Roy) caught the pacesetter and fanned three-wide around the final turn.

As they came down the stretch, Capteur De Reve was the strong horse, beating R Rkadabra by half a length in 2:00. Rocky Boy was third.

It was the sixth win this year for Québec champion Capteur De Reve. The four-year-old son of Muscle Mass is trained by Maxime Velaye for Ecurie Provoquante. He paid $3.00 to win.

In the fourth race battle of the pacing mares, it was no surprise that Rainbow Palace remains the Queen of H3R.

With Francis Picard in the sulky, Rainbow Palace worked her way first-over against Lit De Rose (Pierre Luc Roy) to take command by the opening quarter in :27.1. She led to the half in :57.2 as Wild River Swan (Gilles Gendron) came first-over.

By three-quarters in 1:26.2, Wild River Swan had to drop in second as Rainbow Palace held the field at bay, going on to win by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:56.2. Wild River Swan was second with Jordies Hope (Stephane Brosseau) third.

It was the fourth win this year for the six-year-old daughter of Royal Mattjesty, who has raced most of the season against male rivals with much success. Rainbow Palace, trained by Dominique Picard and owned by Francis Picard, paid $3.40 to win.

Both Pascal Berube and Pierre Luc Roy had driving triples on the race card, and Maxime Velaye had a training double.

Next Sunday (Oct. 7) is the annual Lucien Bombardier Memorial for two-year-old pacing fillies. First race post time is 12:50 p.m.
