Artful Way rallied from off the pace to take the $18,000 Open Pace on Saturday, September 30 at Saratoga Raceway.
The Jackie Greene trainee got away fifth in the six-horse field, sitting off a pace set by Dancin Yankee, who went fractions of :26.4 and :56. Artful Way, getting underway moving towards the final turn, paced past Dancin Yankee at the three-quarter pole, winning in 1:51.4. Dancin Yankee finished second, while Deetzy took third.
Frank Coppola Jr. drove Artful Way to victory for owner Kellogg Racing Stables, bringing him close to $115,000 in earnings. He paid $4.00 to win.
Live racing continues at Saratoga on Sunday afternoon with a matinee that kicks off at 12:15 p.m.
