Yansky and Menard Hanover, two-year-old trotters sired by Muscles Yankee, won $50,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Green Acres division finals this afternoon at Freehold
Raceway.
The NJSS Green Acres filly title went to Yansky, who wired the field in 2:00.4 for Duke Sugg, who drives, trains and bred the lass. Sugg also co-owns the filly with Wayne Farthing.
Yansky finished 17 and a half lengths ahead the next closest horse, as most of the fillies broke stride. It was the filly's second victory in 12 starts.
The $50,000 final of the Green Acres for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings was won by Menard Hanover in 2:04, after the pace-setting Upfront Pattys Boy broke stride in mid-stretch.
Menard Hanover, closing fast in the stretch with Cat Manzi driving, crossed the finish line a nose ahead of Reporting For Duty. Options Blue Chip was third.
It was the third win in eight starts for the colt, trained by Randy Beekman for co-owners Miller’s Stable, DM Stables and J. A. McClelland.
