MacDonald Bags Six At Rideau

Driver John MacDonald has managed to bank more than $1 million in earnings for six consecutive seasons, and with the way things are going for the reinsman he shouldn’t have any trouble going over the $1 million mark this season, as well.

MacDonald clicked for a six-win performance during Monday’s matinee card at Rideau Carleton Raceway, and the win parade started in Race 4 with Pembroke Chip (1:56.3). He returned to victory lane in Race 7 with RG Riptide (1:54.3) and found his way back to the winner’s circle with a pacer from his barn – One False Move (1:54.2) – in Race 9.

Back-to-back wins in Races 11 and 12 with Glencove Victory (1:57.4) and Sandburg Hanover (1:54.3) pushed his daily win total to five, but he capped off his big day by taking the finale with Tyber King (1:55) to complete his six-pack of wins.

MacDonald, a career winner of close to $13 million in purse earnings, is just 21 wins away from 2,500 career victories.
