While heavy rains forced the cancellation of the final five races at Exhibition Park Raceway on Saturday afternoon, a pair of Atlantic Sires Stakes held earlier on the card went off without a hitch.
Driver Danny Romo swept both $10,000 divisions for two-year-old pacing fillies as the favourites Top Brand ($3.60) and Carol Alice ($3.20) trudged through the slop to score a pair of victories.
Leaving from the inside post position in the opening split, Top Brand grabbed the lead and never looked back as she cruised to a four and three-quarter length victory in 2:10.2 over the track rated seven seconds slow. Kaitlins Kowgirl (Jason Hughes) was second off a pocket trip and Tobins Mygirl (Todd Trites) finished over 17 lengths behind in third.
