According to a report on ohio.com, Northfield, Ohio mayor Victor Milani and a spokesman for Northfield Park yesterday stated that the track has discussed building a multi-million-dollar slots parlour, hotel and retail complex
if video lottery terminals are allowed at racetracks within the state.
Milani and William Seese, vice president of marketing and hospitality at Northfield Park, appeared before Summit County Council urging members to support the racetrack plan, which would see a $300-$400 video slots parlour built.
The article states that the video slots proposal — which still faces legal hurdles — also requires racetracks to spend at least $80 million on improvements over the next five years.
''We plan on spending way more than the minimum,'' said Seese, who went on to state that he wished could divulge more of the plans at the present time, but was not in a position to do so.
