Inca Queen was too hot for the competition to handle in Thursday’s $14,720 End Of Season Claiming Series Final at Hiawatha Horse Park, and that was good news to the handicappers that helped send her off as the 2-1 favourite.

With Marc St. Louis, Jr. at the lines, Inca Queen got away fourth while St Lads Moxie rolled the distaffers to the opening post in :26.2 and the half-mile marker in :55.4. Inca Queen commenced her first-over bid as the field passed in front of the grandstand, but she angled into the two-hole and stalked St Lads Moxie to the three-quarter pole in 1:24.2. Inca Queen tipped out in the lane and used a :29.3 kicker to prevail by 2-1/2 lengths over St Lads Moxie, with Taylorlane Fancy rounding out the Triactor ticket.

Kevin Maguire of Parkhill, ON owns the six-year-old daughter of Peruvian Hanover, who won for just the second time this season. The eight-time winner is closing in on $50,000 in lifetime earnings.
