Two-year-old pacing filly Its No Secret took over the top spot in her Ontario Sires Stakes divisional standings while earning her second consecutive Gold trophy of the season on Friday evening at Flamboro Downs.
Driver Anthony MacDonald and the reigning Gold champion fired off the gate from post seven and tucked in behind inside starter Kims Royal Day and Billy Davis Jr. Its No Secret played follow-the-leader through fractions of :27.2, :57.1 and 1:25.4 before zipping up the passing lane to prevail over the even-money favourite by one length in 1:55.1. Prynne Hanover and Paul MacKenzie was third while the Scott Zeron-driven Raise Your Glass and Best Impressions, driven by Roger Mayotte, earned the final paycheques finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Overlooked by the betting public despite winning the Sept. 14 Gold Final at Grand River Raceway and her elimination on Sept. 21 for tonight's Final, Its No Secret paid $16.50 to win as the 7-1 fourth choice.
Shawn Robinson trains while Robert Hamather owns and bred the daughter of Badlands Hanover and Secret Departure, who has won six races while never finishing worse than third in nine career starts. The lion's share of the purse lifted her bankroll to $251,500.
