Windsor Raceway rolled out the red carpet for the province’s top three-year-old pacing colts and geldings, as they invaded the border oval for a set of $40,000 O.S.S. Gold Series eliminations.

Mach Dreamer, who leads the division with 200 points, powered off cover to win his assignment in 1:52 for the tandem of driver Rick Zeron and trainer Murray Brethour. The son of Mach Three-Boy Meets Girl sat fifth for most of the mile before using a :27.1 final frame to win by a length over runner-up Keystone Raptor (Jack Moiseyev). Code Word (Jody Jamieson) came first-over and managed to hold on for third prize.

The victory was the seventh of the season in 17 attempts for the homebred colt, who is owned by Stephen Scarff of Halifax, NS. He has banked more than $294,000 this season and more than $249,000 to date.

Twin B Warrior made a quarter-pole move to the front for driver Randy Waples and then laid down middle splits of :56 and 1:24 en route to pulling off an 18-1 upset in a time of 1:51.3 in the second elimination. The son of Apaches Fame-What An Attitude drew clear to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Big Bay Point (Robert Shepherd). Race favourite Dalhousie Dave (Jody Jamieson) rounded out the top three finishers in the seven-horse affair.

Jeff Gillis trains the gelding for owner Mac Nichol of Burlington, ON. It was the pacer’s second win of the 2010 campaign, and the lion’s share of the purse boosted his overall bankroll to $345,981.

The top four finishers from each of the eliminations and one of the fifth-place finishers drawn by lot will advance to next Tuesday’s final. Here’s how they’ll line up behind the starting gate:
