Dr Alexander B took over command of field en route to the opening quarter and held off challenger BJ Cruiser to win the feature event Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park
in 1:59.4.
Driver Shane Bernard engineered the winning trip behind Dr Alexander B for owner-trainer Paul Doyle of Charlottetown, PE over a track rated two seconds off due to rain during the day. BJ Cruiser was right there for second while Barrett Jackson, who was sitting fifth at the three-quarter station closed hard to finish third.
Stonehousepleasure, owned by George Brookins of Stratford, PE, won the evening's trot division in 2:04.2 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell.
