Shacked Up made her debut at Saratoga Raceway a winning one on Sunday, but things got a little dicey for the distaffer in the late stages of the $18,000 Fillies & Mares Open

The five-year-old daughter of Western Terror-Sapphire Dawn shipped in for trainer Josh Green, and to no surprise she was gunned from the gate by driver Dan Cappello. Shacked Up cleared to the lead after parking past the first post in :27.3, and once she cleared she sped through panels of :56.1 and 1:24.3. Shacked Up came under heavy pressure from Special Sweetheart in the final strides, but the leader’s :29.3 final frame was good enough to earn her the nose decision over her hard-charging foe. Diva Delight took home third prize in the nail biter.
Baron Racing Stable of Horsham, PA owns the OSS graduate with the VIP Internet Stable LLC of Piscataway, NJ, and the connections have watched the classy campaigner assemble an 8-for-24 record while banking close to $240,000 along the way. The 25-time winner is quickly closing in on career earnings to $1.4 million.
