Cameron McQueen enjoyed a productive Sunday afternoon with a training triple amid Leamington Raceway's Harness The Hope Day festivities.
Veteran pacer Rye N Clyne ($2.70) kicked off McQueen's training triple in the $3,800 third race. The nine-year-old Vintage Master gelding was the fastest winner of the day, giving the slip to a field of a $7,000 claiming-conditioned pacers as he drew off by 8-1/4 lengths for the 1:57 victory.
McQueen later earned back-to-back wins starting in the eighth race with claiming mares Northern Belle ($4.70) in 1:59 and Rocket Girl ($2.10) in 1:59.2.
The 34-year-old horseman came up just shy of a perfect day at the races. Meet-leading reinsman Garrett Rooney drove all three of McQueen's winners but foiled his other Sunday starter Hurrikanekingcarlo, driven by Nick Steward, with the George Robinson-trained Phone In prevailing by a half-length in the fifth race.
In just his third season as a trainer, McQueen has earned 55 wins and nearly $300,000 in purse earnings, recently topping his numbers from a year ago.
