Hanover Raceway will close out its 2014 season on Saturday night, and the track has added some extra special features to its final card.
First of all, Hanover has added two more races, so it will offer 12 races for its local horsemen.
Hanover will also pay tribute to its top horsepeople and horses on Saturday with its season-ending awards presentations.
The awards include top driver, trainer, A B Fleishauer Horse of the Year, as well as claimer and trotter of the year.
The Red Rascal Band will be playing on the flat roof from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Hanover Travel and Cruises will be on hand to announce the winner of the $2,500 travel voucher from all the free ballots collected over the course of the season.
Two sets of Adirondack Chairs, foot rests and end tables will be awarded to two of the 16 winners of the ‘Best Seats in the House’ draw.
The track has also ordered some extra Mohawk Racetrack programs so fans will be able to follow the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Championships at the same time as the live Hanover races.
Officials with the track have said that there will be extra prize draws for fans in attendance to win items like Hanover Raceway sports bags, t-shirts and other raceway memorabilia.
First-race post time for Hanover’s final day of live racing is 7:15 p.m.
