If the conversation is 2025 Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year contenders, Beau Jangles has most definitely entered the chat.

And it's certainly not too soon to start that discussion. The Breeders Crown is one month away, and for the most part the favourites heading into those championship finals at Woodbine Mohawk Park — and, in many cases, division-clinching championship finals — have been established.

One year ago, 2024 Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year Chantilly had just conquered her rivals in the Shes A Great Lady to stay perfect in seven seasonal starts. She then went on to run the table north of the border, winning her final Ontario Sires Stakes Gold leg and the OSS Super Final en route to her Canadian Horse of the Year victory.

Today, there's a perfect two-year-old pacing colt with a similar resume. Eight starts for Beau Jangles and eight wins, with his most recent coming this past Saturday (Sept. 20) in a thrilling stakes and track record-tying 1:49.1 effort in the 2025 Metro Pace for driver Bob McClure and trainer Dr. Ian Moore.

A son of Cattlewash - Mrs Major Hill, Beau Jangles is owned by Graham Grace Stables LLC of Clifton, Va., Kiwi Stables LLC of La Plata, Md. and Bolton Stables of Clermont, Fl. He's banked $972,125 thus far for his connections. His next appearance could thrust him into millionaire status.

According to Moore, Beau Jangles came out of his Saturday night showdown in fine fettle. That next start is slated for one week from today — Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Mohawk.

"He's doing great and [his next start] will probably be the last Gold leg next Tuesday," Moore told Trot Insider on Tuesday morning.

After that final Gold leg, Moore confirmed that the tentative schedule for Beau Jangles includes the OSS Super Final on Oct. 10, followed by the Breeders Crown eliminations at Mohawk seven days later.
