Creatine will be returning to Sugar Valley Farm in Ohio to stand stud in 2022 after spending the 2021 season in New Zealand at Nevele R.
“After both the success of horses like Meadowlands track record holder Jujubee ($300,107, 1:49.4) and Take All Comers ($353,419, 1:52.3) and the strong response to his yearlings at the Ohio Jug Sale, it only makes sense that we would bring Creatine back to Ohio for 2022," said Diamond Creek’s Adam Bowden.
At the recently concluded Ohio Jug Select Sale, Creatine yearlings were in demand. His average of $32,222 was the highest among trotting stallions and was more than 10 times his stud fee. He also sold a filly for $97,000.
“The feedback from breeders has been positive and we expect more interest in 2022 and beyond,” said Bowden. “Stud fee will be set at $4,000.”
Diamond Creek will begin taking applications after the Lexington sale and encourages all breeders to submit mares quickly as they expect his book to fill.
