Northern Companion Avenges Match Race Loss

Northern Companion turned the tables on Neptune Blue Chip Saturday night at Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park in the first $8,500 Open Pace of the new meet.

The 1:54.2 triumph avenged a defeat to the runner-up in a special $7,500 match race on closing night of the spring meet two months ago. Rob Hoffman guided the winner for owner Dorothy Zarza and trainer Howard Klohr.

Northern Companion has now strung a dozen in-the-money finishes together, including five wins.
