Gary Wilfert, senior state steward of the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC), resigned on Wednesday after public records were requested by the Indianapolis Star and appeared to show calls to a phone sex service made from his state-issued phone

According to state policy on the use of phones, employees are prohibited from accessing “materials that are considered pornographic, obscene, sexually explicit...”
The Indianapolis Star has reported that Joe Gorajec, executive director of the IHRC, initiated his own investigation after the paper’s inquiry. While Gorajec declined to comment on the investigation, he noted that there appeared to be no charge from the service billed to the state and the calls were not made during work time.
