O'Brien Award finalist Calicojack Hanover and fellow Luc Blais-trained stakes winner Private Access sold for six-figures in an online auction this past weekend.
Previously owned by Determination of Montreal, Que., both Breeders Crown eligibles sold to U.S. connections on Saturday, Sept. 19 via ongait.com.
Calicojack Hanover sold for $436,620 ($310,000 USD) to Mark Weaver. The five-year-old Captaintreacherous stallion out of the former Weaver-owned stakes winning mare Charisma Hanover took his lifetime mark of 1:48.4s last month at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Last year's Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup champion has earned more than $640,000 in his career.
Private Access sold for $326,761 ($232,000 USD) to Michael Hitchcock. A five-year-old stallion by Muscle Hill out of Open Access, Private Access is a half brother to this weekend's Mohawk Million starter Access Now. Private Access is a career winner of more than $840,000 with a mark of 1:50.2 taken at The Meadowlands last year in a leg of the Graduate Series.
