An accident occurred in the $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Tuesday (Sept. 22), a race won by YS Tallia.

Leading every step of the way, YS Tallia strolled through fractions of :27, :56.3 and 1:25 before kicking away from I Wish You Well rallying for second over Outlaw Imahotvixen third. Favourite Lovely Donna, off at 8-5, raced fifth early in the mile and started recouping ground to the half, but lost stride and came to a stop as My Baby Girl edged to the outside. The two collided by the stands, with drivers J Harris and Daryl Thiessen getting on their feet to corral their horses. Reports indicate that horses and drivers escaped serious injury.

YS Tallia, a six-year-old Western Ideal mare trained by Richard Moreau, won her second race from seven starts this season and her 20th from 71 overall, earning $271,680. The homebred for Yves Sarrazin had Brett MacDonald in the bike and paid $6.90 to win.

Ole Jack Magic jetted on the point to a 1:56.2 win later in the card to win the featured event of the night, a $11,500 Preferred 2 Trot.

Leaving from post 3, driver Colin Kelly cleared control with Ole Jack Magic to a :28.2 opening quarter and led uncontested to a :58.2 half. Pocket-sitter and odds-on favourite The Fixer floated off the pylons approaching three-quarters in 1:27.2 to challenge the leader into the final turn, but Ole Jack Magic turned away the threat. The nine-year-old Kadabra gelding coasted to a two-length victory over The Fixer with Sizzlen Hot Herbie giving chase in third.

Owned and trained by Harold Wilson, Ole Jack Magic won his sixth race from 18 starts this season and his 35th from 187 overall, earning $434,328. He paid $15.20 to win.
