Sex Appeal, pictured victorious in the Simcoe Stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park
Ten days removed from her upset win in the Simcoe Stakes, Bettors Delight filly Sex Appeal returned to Woodbine Mohawk Park on Tuesday, September 22 and highlighted the morning qualifying session at the Campbellville oval.
Sex Appeal's regular pilot, Trevor Henry, was back in the bike for trainer Bob McIntosh when the three-year-old took to the track for Race 6. After her Post 1 start, Sex Appeal worked out a pocket trip through the fractions (:28.2, :57.4, 1:27) and got up in the stretch to win by three quarters of a length in 1:54.4. On September 12 at Mohawk, Sex Appeal utilized similar tactics to upset Lady Lou in 1:50.2 during their $88,895 Simcoe split. Sex Appeal is owned by her breeders, Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. and Al McIntosh Holdings Inc.
Please note that Sex Appeal's race starts at roughly the 52:40 mark.
Three-year-old Bettors Delight colt Indictable Hanover recorded his first charted mile since July 25 in Race 3. The Casie Coleman-Herlihy-trained colt stalked from fourth before closing with a :26.3 final quarter. Pilot James MacDonald orchestrated the one-length win, which was clocked in 1:53.3. Indictable Hanover is owned by the West Wins Stable, John Fielding and Mac Nichol.
Other notable winners fom the morning session included Millar Farms preliminary leg winner Black Tie Bash (1:58.3), Ontario Sires Stakes graduate Powerful Chris (1:56), and OSS Grassroots winner All Cheddar (1:56).
