Harrington Hosts DSBF Prelims

Leonard Hubbard’s Zs Dream ($7.80, Art Stafford Jr.) and Jo Ann Looney-King’s Syndegaard ($7, Victor Kirby) each won their respective $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) opening-leg elimination for two-year-old male pacers Monday (Sept. 21) at Harrington Raceway.

Zs Dream, a son of Dream Away, assumed command from early leader Marvelous Winner near the three-quarters pole and never looked back in a decisive one-length win over Subban and Marvelous Winner. Favorite Squeak On By miscued behind the gate before the start and finished last. Zs Dream, trained by Andrew Stafford, earned his first career win.

Syndegaard was a front-end winner in the second split over Henrico and Justflirtingwithu in 1:59. Trained by Jim King Jr., the Roddys Bags Again gelding also picked up his first career win.

The top point earners from the two rounds of eliminations will compete in $100,000 final events on October 7. Pacing fillies will get underway in 3 divisions on the Tuesday September 21 program.

Driver Pat Berry won three races in succession, piloting Stark Hanover ($17), Power of Tell ($6.40) and Jacks Legend N ($2.80) to victory.

Victor Kirby, Montrell Teague, and Tony Morgan each recorded driving doubles.
