Harrington Feature To BJs Sweetheart

Jason and Susan Skinner's BJs Sweetheart notched her seventh win of the year in 1:52.4 in the $12,500 Mares Open II at Harrington Raceway.

Trained by co-owner Jason Skinner, the five-year-old No Pan Intended mare got away third while Tyra and A La Notte Hanover battled to the quarter pole in :26.3. A La Notte Hanover worked her way to the top, but she was quickly under attack from BJs Sweetheart, who cleared at the mid-way point in :55. She took the field to the three-quarter pole in 1:23.3 before using a :29.1 kicker to win by 1-1/4 lengths over A La Notte Hanover. Third went to Matinee Dragon.

Tony Morgan, who had four wins on the card, guided the public’s top choice to the victory. She paid $3.20.

Wednesday's program at Harrington Raceway will support the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition as horse bracelets and other merchandise with be made available for purchase in the paddock and grandstand lobby areas.

All proceeds will go to benefit the DBCC. The seventh race on the 12 race program was named in the DBCC's honour. To learn more about DBCC, please visit www.debreastcancer.org.
