Driver Aaron Merriman, who broke an elbow and both wrists in an accident back in June, has set a date to return
to the track.
Announcer Roger Huston was talking to Merriman on Tuesday at the Delaware County Fair and Merriman has his sights set on Saturday, October 16 at Northfield Park, with hopes of also driving at The Meadows on Monday, September 18.
Merriman, 32, had 355 wins at the time of the accident - tops in North American harness racing - and was the leading driver at Northfield Park in Ohio. Last year, he finished third for most wins in North America, with a career-high 706. He also set a career mark with $5 million in purses.
