Heading into the $130,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold final this Sunday at Rideau Carleton Raceway's, trainer Dr. Ian Moore has said that a pair of his freshman pacing stars, Malicious and Wellthereyougo, could miss some lucrative late-season stakes
.
“[Wellthereyougo has] raced well, but I think it might be time to shut him down for the season,” said Dr. Moore, who will be starting the Battle of Waterloo stakes record holder from Post 1 in Sunday's OSS Gold final.
Dr. Moore's comments came in an article by The Guardian, where he also indicated that Bettors Delight colt Malicious will probably be shut down as well.
“There’s a lot of big races for these colts in their three-year-old season, so maybe it’s time to shut them down,” he said.
