Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway will feature a pair of $6,000 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Grassroots divisions on Tuesday, Sept. 22 with Earl Watts trainees Big Pond Cash and Starship Glyde headlining the fourth leg fields.
The Prince County oval has 15 dashes scheduled for a 6 p.m. (ADT) opening post time with the series divisions slated for races seven and 12.
Big Pond Cash is the 5-2 morning line favourite in the first Graduate Series split and will leave from post four in the six-horse field. Paul Langille drives the Watts trainee for owners Matt & David Burke and Ryan & Everett MacLeod. The four-year-old son of Pang Shui enters off a front-end victory in 1:55.3 at Red Shores Charlottetown. Howmac Exclusive (Corey MacPherson) and Rosiesmightymoe (Gilles Barrieau) are two other top selections in the race.
A two-time winner in the series, six-year-old Control The Moment gelding Starship Glyde is the 5-2 morning line favourite in the other division from the outside post five with Adam Merner driving for Watts and owner Windemere Farms. Good Omen (Paul Langille) and Justa Country Boy (Jason Hughes) complete the top three choices.
In the $5,250 top conditioned pace on the program, Air Force Hanover is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post six for driver Gilles Barrieau, trainer Ronald Matheson and owner Woodmere Farms. The 10-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere has won his last two starts in identical 1:53.4 miles at Charlottetown and will face trainer/owner Danny Romo's Truro Raceway invader Bettor On Than Off, who is riding a four-race win streak and will have Jason Hughes picking up the catch-drive.
Driver Corey MacPherson enters the program three wins shy of 2,000 lifetime as the Vernon River, P.E.I. native sets his sights on the career achievement with 12 drives on Tuesday.
