Two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for two-year-old filly trotters take centre stage at Vernon Downs on Friday (September 22).

In the first division, carrying a purse of $55,500, the 2-1 morning line favourite is Supergirl Riley (Marcus Miller). The Muscle Mass-Crown Laurel filly is owned by Paymaq Racing, George Golemes, and Harvey Eisman, while trained by Erv Miller. She has captured three legs of the NYSS with two wins at Yonkers and one at Saratoga.

The top competition is the Åke Svanstedt-trained entry of Fury Road (Chris Lems) and Lucky Ava (Svanstedt), who are the second choice at 3-1.

Fury Road (Muscle Mass-Bar Ballad) is owned by Knutsson Trotting, Inc. She has captured three legs of the NYSS with wins at Batavia, Monticello, and Saratoga. She was second to Supergirl Riley her last time out at Yonkers.

Lucky Ava (Lucky Chucky-Ava Marion) is owned by Åke Svanstedt, Inc., Little E, LLC, and Van Camp Trotting Corp. She has four NYSS victories, with wins at Buffalo, Batavia, and two victories at Yonkers.

In the second division, which will go for $56,500, undefeated Plunge Blue Chip (Svanstedt) is the morning line favourite at 2-1. She is part of another Svanstedt trained entry along with Natalie Hanover (Miller).

Plunge Blue Chip (Muscle Mass-Dunk The Donato) is owned by Åke Svanstedt, Inc. and Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc. She is five-for-five, winning all of her NYSS starts. She has wins at Buffalo, Batavia, Tioga, and a pair of wins at Yonkers.

Her top rival is Lima Novelty (Jason Bartlett), who is part of a Linda Toscano-trained entry with Sevenbuyeleven (John MacDonald), at 3-1.

Lima Novelty (Chapter Seven-No Pictures Please) is owned by Kenneth Jacobs. The freshman filly is four-for-four in NYSS races, scoring victories at Buffalo, Yonkers, Monticello, and Saratoga. The only blemish on her record was during her Peaceful Way elimination at Mohawk when she went on a break and finished ninth.

Post time for the 12-race card at Vernon Downs is 6:45 p.m. Eastern.
