The 2015 Canadian Yearling Sale posted a solid 69.4 per cent increase in its average sale price over last year's sale.

The sale toppers came from the Northfields Farm consignment, with three Northern yearlings fetching bids of $70,000 or more. Leading the way was pacer Northern Titan, a son of Mach Three from the millionaire Southwind Madonna. Aaron Waxman, acting as agent, paid $78,000 for the striking yearling colt.

A pair of trotters sired by Kadabra were also highly sought-after. Northern Moxie (Kadabra - Independent Woman) fetched a bid of $72,000 from Luc Blais, while Northern Georgina (Kadabra - Northern Hope) will report to Tony O'Sullivan's barn after a $70,000 high bid.

In front of a capacity crowd on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, 119 yearlings entered the sales ring at the SC Sales Pavilion and grossed $2,540,700. That total results in a $21,350 yearling average, up 69.4 per cent from the $12,614 average in 2014.
