Grand River Raceway called its Wednesday, Sept. 2 harness racing card after four races due to deteriorating track conditions caused by the severe storms impacting southern Ontario.
Both of the scheduled $10,000 divisions of the Prospect Series Leg 4B for two-year-old trotting geldings were contested before the cancellation.
Benjamin Blue Chip ($5.40) flourished over the sloppy track, producing a 6-3/4-length maiden victory in his fifth start in 2:00.4 for trainer Amanda Riley. Brady Galliers drove the King Of The North-Essence Of Lindy gelding.
Irish Exit ($18.70) cut the mile for driver Jonathan Drury and trainer Kyle Bossence to score by a length in 2:01.4. The Alarm Detector-Fighting Irish colt took his first win in four starts.
