Kentucky Commonwealth Series champion Strangerinthenight fetched a six-figured price tag five days removed from that lucrative stakes victory.

The three-year-old son of Tall Dark Stranger-Tall Drink Hanover won the series final on Monday, Sept. 15 at The Red Mile in a lifetime best 1:50.2 over heavily-favoured Fusion. On Friday (Sept. 19), Strangerinthenight was purchased for $138,889 by Wayne Oke of Kentucky after bidding concluded through onGait.com. The Tony Alagna trainee was sold by the partnership of Brittany Farms LLC, Riverview Racing LLC, Steven Head and Pryde Stables.

Also on Friday, bidding got underway for the 2025 onGait Fall Yearling Sale. A total of 72 yearlings are being offered, including consignments from Hanover Shoe Farms and Kentuckiana Farms.
