Dragon Time got up just in time to score the repeat win in the $2,800 Open Handicap Pace that headlined the Sunday afternoon (Sept. 19) card of harness racing at Marquis Downs.

Ordered outside of his rivals after winning last Sunday's Open, Dragon Time and driver Glenn Le Drew moved underway from the back of the five-horse field as they passed the grandstand the first lap of the track. The odds-on favourite progressed up to the pacesetting Diggin A Trench (Lee Ibey), who set fractions of :29.1, :59.3 and 1:27.3, and wore him down in deep stretch to prevail by a head in 1:57.4, matching his win time from one week ago. Tagoras (Darryl Mason) finished third.

Trainer Trevor Williams recently acquired the six-year-old Bettors Delight gelding, a 12-time career winner, and shares ownership with Adam Mace of Altona, M.B.

The favourite returned $3.50 to win.

Williams enjoyed a training triple through Sunday's six races with Farmerstrikesfame (Marc Fillion) -- who made back-to-back starts this weekend at Marquis Downs -- and Lisplaced (Le Drew) also turning in winning efforts for the province's leading stable.

Saturday's Mares Open winner Outlaw Tootsieroll was right back at it on Sunday, winning a $7,500 claiming-conditioned pace with a purse of $2,200 by 3-3/4 lengths in 1:58.3. Lee Ibey drove the six-year-old daughter of Smart Shark for trainer Lance Ward and owner Jaime Ward of Sherwood Park, Alta.
