Visible Gold strolled through a leisurely front half on the lead, then blitzed the back half in :54.2 to capture Friday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
When Dave Palone was able to give Visible Gold fractions of :28 and :58, the six-year-old Bettors Delight-Gabrielle gelding had plenty in the tank to roll home in 1:52.2, three-quarters of a length better than the pocket-sitting Exactly Black. Major Belle raced well first over for show.
Ron Burke trains Visible Gold, who has won 10 races this year and $323,444 in his career, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and RTC Stables.
Palone drove six winners — three for Burke — on the 15-race card while Aaron Merriman enjoyed a four-bagger.
