Cree collected her first career victory in the $7,000 first leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres for two-year-old trotting fillies, the third race on Friday afternoon at Freehold Raceway.
Trainer Trond Smedshammer drove the daughter of Muscle Hill-Firstclassprincess to a three-quarter length victory over Southwind Hope [Muscle Hill], who captured the opening leg of the Green Acres division. It was four and a quarter lengths to Heal The World [Muscle Hill] in third.
Cree [$3.60], bred and owned by Michael Andrew of Gorham, ME, was on the front at every call in the 2:02.1 mile. She now has a win, a second and a third in six starts and earnings of $8,050.
With only three entrants, the $7,000 opening leg of the Green Acres for three-year-old trotting fillies, Rileys Dream [Muscle Hill] was a three-quarter length winner in 2:00.3. Last week the Julie Miller trainee won the $30,000 Helen Smith Final.
Steve Smith was in the sulky as Rileys Dream improved her record to three wins, with 12 of 16 in-the-money finishes. She has banked $88,651 for Jason, Douglas and Ronald Allen.
Blue Muse [Muscles Yankee] was second with Demons N Diamonds [Muscle Hill] was third by eight and three-quarter lengths.
