It was a ‘three across the track’ finish in Monday’s $8,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 at Grand River Raceway, and when the dust settled it was On The Minute Mark who came away victorious in the seven-mare affair.

J Harris got away fifth with On The Minute Mark, who watched P L Kahluaa wheel the field through fractions of :27.2, :57.1 and 1:26.2. Shewearsthepants came first-over on the way to the half, and On The Minute Mark tracked that cover through the middle stages of the mile. She then used a :29.1 closing quarter to work her way to the lead. She was a head better than race favourite Southwind Ion in 1:56.1. P L Kahluaa came a half-length short en route to finishing third.

Jean Guy Belliveau trains the five-year-old daughter of Rambaran-Nina Seelster for owner/breeder Kimberly Mark of Simcoe, Ont. It was the fourth win of the season – and the sixth to date – for the career winner in excess of $85,000.
