The winning streak is now four-in-a-row and counting for O’Brien Award winner Intimidate following Monday’s 1:52.4 score in the $34,000 Preferred Trot at Mohawk Racetrack.

With Sylvain Filion at the controls, Intimidate was sent off as the 4-5 favourite in the 10-horse affair even though he was starting from Post 10 for trainer Luc Blais. Knows Nothing and Charlie Is A Joker battled to the quarter in :27.2 before the latter worked his way to the top. Intimidate was sixth and parked at that juncture, and remained parked until just past the half-mile pole.

That fraction popped up in :56.1, and the next post was reached in 1:24.4 by the front-stepping Intimidate. He used a :28-second closing panel to win by three-quarters of a length over a hard-closing Smarty Pants in 1:52.4. Knows Nothing came on late to finish third.

The four-year-old son of Justice Hall-Fabulous Tag owns a 6-for-7 record this season after going 13-for-17 last year. The homebred, who is owned by Judith Farrow of Hemmingford and Les Ecuries Luc Blais Inc of Lochaber Ouest, QC, has banked more than $577,000 to date.
