On Wednesday, September 12, pilot Robert Dinning of Gray, Maine recorded the 1,000th driving victory of his career.
The 30-year-old accomplished the feat September 12 at Wooster Fair aboard the Tricia Shepard-trained Mr Iam.
Bet down to forty cents on the dollar, Dinning and the three-year-old Western Spirit colt left out of Post 3 and made every pole a winning one, as they sliced all the fractions and opened up lengths on their competition as the mile went on.
The winning time was 1:57.4, and the final margin of victory was five lengths.
