Lindys Two Step and Upfront Pattys Boy had all the right moves to win their respective finals of the Harold Dancer on Thursday afternoon at Freehold Raceway.

The Harold Dancer Filly and the Harold Dancer Colt stakes were restricted to two-year-old New Jersey-sired trotters and both stakes are sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.

Lindys Two Step, sent off as the 1-2 favourite, was uncontested through a mile in 2:02.1, winning by a length and a quarter over Boinga. Third prize in the $45,000 affair went to Yansky. The daughter of Muscles Yankee, driven by John Campbell and trained by Linda Toscano, picked up her fourth win with a second and a third to her credit in 11 starts and a bankroll of $149,627 for owners Martin Sternberg of Brookville, NY and Alvin Katz of Port Washington, NY.

Lindys Two Step has two wins in New Jersey Sires Stakes action and annexed a Goldsmith Maid elimination heat before finishing fifth in the final. She was also second to Costa Rica in the $200,000 final of the New Jersey Sires Stakes at the Meadowlands in July.

Upfront Pattys Boy, a son of Windsongs Legacy, was a head winner in a time of 2:04 over Mamas Boo Bear in the $55,000 final for the colts and geldings. The other three entrants broke stride and were distanced. Jason Bartlett was in the sulky for the colt’s third win. Upfront Pattys Boy has finished in-the-money in six of seven starts, earning $56,944 for C. Ed Mullinax of Amherst, OH.

The Mark Ford trainee won a division of the Reynolds Stakes at Pocono Downs on July 7 and took his 1:59.2 mark in an early closer at Vernon Downs on August 21.
