Lady Cafe Au Lait will put her 13-race winning streak on the line on Thursday, Sept. 17 in Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series action at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has 15 dashes scheduled and a 6 p.m. opening post time with a pair of $9,000 Aged Pacing Mares Series divisions, presented by Standardbred Canada, the features.
Lady Cafe Au Lait is the 5-2 morning-line favourite from the rail in the first division in Race 11 for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Earl Watts and owners Windemere Farms of Springvale, P.E.I. and Matt and David Burke of Stratford, P.E.I. The four-year-old daughter of Big Jim-Lady Latte has been untouchable since arriving on Prince Edward Island, including a 1:52.1 Atlantic-record performance at Red Shores Summerside Raceway on July 28. She has won 15 of 18 starts this season and was victorious in 1:54.4 in her latest outing.
Brokeandoutofgas is the 3-1 second choice from post three with Gilles Barrieau driving for trainer-owner Tammy Collings of Hazel Brook, P.E.I. Rosetown Mary (7-2) and Corey MacPherson complete the Classifier’s Choices from post five. MacPherson trains the mare for Rosetown Stable of Stratford and Taylor MacPherson of Cornwall, P.E.I.
The second Aged Pacing Mares Series division lines up in Race 14 with Vibrance favoured at 5-2 from post four. Jason Hughes drives the Ashley Gamester trainee for owners Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I. and Blair MacLauchlan of Charlottetown, P.E.I. The six-year-old Betting Line-Moonlit Dance mare was a commanding 1:54.3 winner in her latest start.
Cc Rockin Rosie is the 3-1 second choice from post six for trainer-driver Adam Merner and owners Steven MacDonald of Stanhope, P.E.I. and Tommy Collings of Mount Stewart, P.E.I. Oh Ophelia (Barrieau) is the 7-2 third choice from post three for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Glenn Bechtel of Stanhope.
The first P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Grassroots division carries a $6,000 purse in Race 9. Saulsbrook Pika is the top morning-line selection at 5-2 from post three with Barrieau driving for trainer Ron Matheson and owners Jackie Cooper of Stratford and Elmer and Jeff Campbell of Airdrie, Alta. Islebetu Islebeatu (MacPherson) and Watch Me Shake It (Ken Arsenault) are the second and third choices, respectively, on the morning line.
The other Graduate split in Race 13 has Freaky Franny favoured at 5-2 on the morning line from the rail for trainer-driver Darren Crowe and owner Josh MacDonald of Little Pond, P.E.I. She is joined by Promise Me Later (PP6, Gilles Barrieau, 3-1) and Sensational Gal (PP4, Corey MacPherson, 7-2).
