The third race on Friday (September 16) at Freehold Raceway was the $42,000 Charles Smith Final for three-year-old colt trotters.
Dominion Beach, driven by Marcus Johansson, took the lead from Inukchuck Chuck before the quarter. Dan Dube and Steed put the pressure on just past the half, but Dominion Beach was able to hold him off for the win in 1:57.2.
The victory was the fourth on the season for the three-year-old son of Muscle Hill who is trained by Nancy Johansson for Sweden's Courant Ab.
Even-money favourite Southwind Flash, driven by Joe Bongiorno, finished second while Steed faded to third-place -- both are also sired by Muscle Hill.
